Rivernook Campground is the biggest privately owned campground along a beautiful stretch of the Kern River, with creeks running through the park. We offer Full Hook Up RV sites, Partial RV sites and dry tent camping sites. We have full service newly remodeled restrooms for our guests at no charge, on site dump station, cable, WIFI and we have a little store that might have something you need!
This is a great camp ground on the river. It also has 2 streams running through the camp ground that's great for little kids to play in. You are just on the outskirt of town. There is a market just down the road incase you forget to bring anything. If you don't feel like making a meal at your campsite there are also restaurants within a couple of minutes driving.
Pros: This campground is right by the river which our family loves. We love that there is direct river access and little to no interruption from staff. The campground was clean upon arrival, and we got most of what we expected. Such as a small fire pit and bench at each site. The sites we got do not have power and there is a small faucet for cleaning hands/ dishes. Cons: I think the bathrooms are too far away from camp (tent) sites but close to where RVs park (doesn't make sense to me). If you want to be woken up by an extremely loud motorcycle everyday at 4am, this is the campsite for you. During our stay, there was a resident who blasted his Harley every single morning around this time, luckly the kids went right back to sleep after he took off. Also, there are plenty of mosquitoes, bees, red ants, and skunks (so lock up all your goods before bed).
Large wedding event during our stay. Loud music booming throughout the campsite. I wanted to go camping….not to a dance party. Also, office lady is not very friendly. Won’t be coming back.
We camp every Labor Day weekend for the past 7 years here at Rivernook Campground. We keep coming back because it is one of if not the best places to be. The kids and all adults enjoy the time spent here. Very well kept and very good host and employees in charge of maintaining and cleaning. Very much recommended
This is an amazing quiet little campground right outside of Kernville. We stayed for the weekend of Whiskey Flat Days and it's perfect. There are public restrooms and showers, and plenty of spaced right next to the river. A great spot if you love early morning fishing and neighborly campers around.
