My wife and I are full time RVers traveling in a 36 foot motorhome. We were passing through New Mexico in the fall of 2021 on our way to Yuma, AZ for the winter when I received word that my mother was very ill in Oklahoma. We had just come from Oklahoma in the motorhome and rather than driving it all the way back to eastern Oklahoma, we decided to find an RV park where my wife and our dogs could stay if I needed to go back to Oklahoma. We arrived at Rio Lago on December 8th, 2021. As it turned out, my brother was able to take care of things with Mom's illness, but she got worse in February and I had to fly back to Oklahoma for 6 weeks. My wife and our 2 dogs stayed in the motorhome in Rio Lago RV park. The manager, Gil and his assistant Zach were fantastic. My wife always felt she was safe and secure and when the battery died in her Honda CRV, Gil was happy to give her a jump. The long term tenants in the park are very nice folks and the short term people who come here to enjoy Elephant Butte lake have all been very nice folks, too. The park and the laundry mat are clean and the electrical, water, sewer and wi-fi all work great. We have decided to stay here until we go to Yuma in the fall. There's just no point in traveling around when you are already in a great spot. I highly recommend Rio Lago to anyone who needs an RV spot in Elephant Butte, NM.

Nice and clean 👌 but the issue was the dryers. 2 out of the 4 didn't work well. We ran it for two cycles, which was 70 minutes and my clothes were still wet. It was a convenient location but I wished that I could have gotten my laundry done. Maybe we will try again and hopefully they adjust the temperature.

I used this park specifically for laundry today and the owner was SO NICE. First I had called on the phone to confirm the laundromat was open to the public. The owner responded happily that it was and let me know they also have a coin machine in the building. When we got there he greeted us and was just a super friendly guy. We didn't stay the night but I would imagine this would be a perfect place to stop!

Rio Lago is a great RV park. Gill and the others that tend to the park keep it clean and well maintained along with providing fantastic service whenever needed. Super nice down to earth people that live there long term as well! Great little spot right down the road from the lake state park and close to gas stations for snacks and lunch. 10/10!

Nothing short but Wow! I stopped by the park to check the laundry facility and was greeted immediately by the owner/manager. The facility is tip notch, reasonable and outstandingly clean. The waiting area is equipped with chairs, tables and is just as orderly as the indoor. The park itself is also super well kept and the spacing between the site are generously distributed. I recommend this rv park and laundry respectfully.
