From South town limits: Go 1-1/2 mi S on Culver Hwy, then 3/4 mi E on Jericho Ln.
This place is ok and has some decent things going on but it's a little pricey. The main reason for the low rating is the is the obvious lack for safety. The had an electrical panel wide open with exposed bus bar and terminations within 5 feet of my trailer and probably 3 feet from where we plugged in to. There was no safety precautions and no notification around. Good thing I am an electrician and understand the dangers so I make sure to keep our kids and out 5 year old nephew away from it. One lapse in keeping an eye on the kids and we could have had one get electrocuted.
A well located KOA resort, off Highway 97, between Redmond and Madras OR. Just east of the small town Culver.
Notes:
One of the best on-site General Stores we have ever seen: the size/assortment/in-stock. Seasonal pool, well equipped playground, horseshoes, K-9 area.
In addition to RV sites, many nicely sited tenting areas.
Remarkable: all sites have wonderful large fire pits, easily the best we have ever seen.
Well equipped, clean bathrooms.
Extremely friendly, helpful staff.
Sites do not supply cable TV, but we discovered a wide range of crystal clear local TV over the air (normal RV roof antenna).
Interesting local attractions and activities. Redmond and Madras have excellent shopping and dining options.
I ubered someone out to this koa in Culver Oregon around 4-5:00pm on 12/6/23. The guy in the store was incredibly rude and wouldn't let me use the restroom. I feel sorry for the people staying there. They need to hire a actual
human being to work at this store.
While staying at this KOA on Oct 13-14, 2023, on the 14th @ 4pm, the water went out. I went to the office and was told that there was a break in the water line that affected all sites, that it was deep, and would need significant work to repair. Was told it could be fixed quickly or take over 24 hours to repair. Not wanting to gamble on no water, I decided to leave and I told the office that I was going to and I wanted a refund for the one night. She said she would work it out. Moments before we pulled out, the water came back on, with huge water pressure. We had already broken camp and were in the truck when that happened. I called the next day and the office said she misunderstood and wouldn't refund the overnight stay. A discussion ensued, she said she would work on it and let me know. She never called. Frankly, this KOA looked run down, unkept, with the sites no way matching the pictures. DO NOT RECOMMEND. (and they owe me for one night).
This KOA Campground was perfectly located with many natural resources to explore. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The store was great; restrooms and showers very clean; along with the grounds. Beautiful open views surround you. Great levee along the canal for walking your dog. Full hookups, pull through sites and beautiful grassy tent sites. Overall great place to stay.
