On Crescent Creek, this site offers opportunities for fishing and picnicking. The campground is rustic, with older facilities. The campground is a great base for those wishing to visit the Strawberry Mountain Wilderness, hike, hunt or just explore. Wildlife viewing is excellent at Crescent campground from small creatures such as chipmunks and squirrels to larger animals such as deer coming to the creek to drink. Many varieties of birds are seen in the area as well as beautiful wildflowers during late spring and early summer.
From the town of Prairie City, OR., turn onto South Main Street, follow the South Main Street to the junction with Bridge Street. Turn left onto Bridge Street and follow past the cemetary, the road then becomes County Road 62. Follow County Road 62 approximately 17 miles the campground will be on the right.
This campground is superb. Crescent lake could be one of the most pristine lakes in the Cascade Range. It’s higher elevation, alpine trees, clear water, and a perfect destination for anyone who wants to escape the hustle of life. Our family and friends love this place.
The ability to kayak, paddle board, water ski or just swim and explore the beautiful water is amazing. The camp sites are well equipped, spacious and clean. The bathrooms, potting water stations and dumpsters are plentiful.
As for the weather, it’s a mixed bag, but the rest is ideal.
If you are looking for a campsite that has it all look no further! Cabins by the lake✔️ tent camping ✔️ rv and trailer camping ✔️ boat ramp✔️ on site litter tackle shop with light groceries✔️ fun water actives like water bicycle, paddle board and canoes ✔️✔️✔️ this is an amazing campsite with docks on site and the water is crystal clear. It has an amazing view of mountains peaking over the tree line over the lake. This is definitely a great place to camp!
The camp spots are absolutely beautiful but we are in spot 30 and there is absolutely no way to level our RV. 29 seems more level. We tried for hours and hours, had a close call with our trailer sliding. This particular spot has a water view but the fire pit is about 75 ft from our camper, past some brush so you don’t have a line of sight from trailer to fire pit. Vault toilets were clean and well maintained and everyone around us was friendly.
Camp sites were great sizes and right next to the water, the bathrooms are pretty clean but very potent smell anytime anyone goes in or out but overall great campground
Peaceful, relaxing, beautiful, the water is so clear it's a nice camp ground and beautiful lake. Don't miss the night view of the sky you will see the whole galaxy. The only down side is beach is made of added gravel so if you walk bare foot and have a pet be careful. Both of my friends dogs had foot injury. It was very windy and although it's a beautiful lake it's peaceful no crowds.
