Needs more care from forestry services !! Homeless people are starting to trash the place once and a while ! If it wasnt for my father and i who hunt and camp there ..it would be worse.. We always put toilet paper and my father cleans and freshens up the restroom as we camp there during hunting season so that travelers and campers a like may have a nice fresh stocked restroom to use!! .. This can be a beautiful and convienent campground if they woul clear some of the dead fall trees.. re paint the restroom... Put new fire rings...anchor down the peavine sign...maybe even put some nice dark brown wooden gaurd rails along the side of the camp !! Because there are too many speeding motorcycles. And cars every weekend ! Clearly going over 70 mph around a blind turn !!! One of these days a child will get hit !! Or a car may lose control into the camp !! You need more dedicated service out there like my father and i !!
I'm pretty sure, this is where we went, when I wrote about The Yodler. It was beautiful, and we sat with our fire , drawing the scenery. The bathroom was unisex, and beyond clean. Nice place to stop for lunch, lol there's still snow, and a headless snowman. ☃️❄
I've been camping here over 25 years and love this little 4-site campground. Until May 15, 2022 it has always been a free campground if you had a NFS Adventure Pass. It is now leased to Mt. High Ski Resort who manage the maintenance on it and other local campgrounds around Wrightwood. It in now $15.00 per night. At the time that I stayed there, the water was not working due to a problem with the pipes that pump it into the campground and received no definitive answer as to when it would be repaired. Water was available at Mt. Oak and Apple Tree campgrounds to campers at Peavine.
Only $15 and only 4 sites. Good for small RVs too! 5 minutes from skihill
This is a two campsite campground. Either you will like or hate the fact that it's right next to the road. It didn't bother me alot, but I'm easy going. There aren't many views, it's trees in front and a hill behind. The sun doesnt shine too much during winter due to the hill behind the site. The bathroom and campsite are clean. Two water spouts, frozen when it's really cold out. If you want to be alone this is a good place.
