About Campground

Joshua Rancho is near the California Poppy reserve. It sits amongst beautiful Joshua Trees with spring desert flowers on the property. This is 2.5 acres of Joshua Tree land in the Antelope Valley north of LA, between the Tehachapi Mountains and the San Gabriel Mountains. You will be driving on dirt roads to get to the property. Trucks, SUV’s and mini vans are fine but please understand that the last mile to the camp site is on an unmaintained dirt road that has high and low spots. The land sits near solar farms and there is some light that does come from them. You will have this beautiful spot to yourself. During the winter, the days are pleasant and cool. It does get breezy at night, so dress appropriately. In the summer time it gets nice and hot but does cool down in the evening. The beauty of being out camping here is that there are no rules, nobody watching. Think long dirt roads, tumbleweeds, bones, and maybe some old bullet shells (there's no shooting allowed on the property). This is not a state-maintained, paved, manicured operation you are out here by yourself. You need to bring your own food and water there is nothing out here. Please respect the property and clean up after yourself! This is for people who are comfortable exploring beyond a concrete slab with electricity and janitor-cleaned restrooms. There is a designated camp site with a deck that you can put your tent on or use it as a picnic eating area. The ground around the site does have lots of places to set up camp. Your pets are welcome out here and are free to be off leash. Please remember that there are wild animals that would like to eat your pet. We do provide a place to use the bathroom but you will need to bring your own bags and composting materials. This property is pack in pack out! The property itself is along a dirt road. It's about a 8 mile drive from Neenach Market, where there's a general store and a cafe. They make a great breakfast burrito. It's also a few minutes from the State Poppy Reserve, which blooms in the spring with miles of California poppies. If you have a larger group or event in mind, get in touch! We can figure out how to accommodate you.
