Pinyon/chaparral vegetation.
From the Hungry Valley SVRA take Gold Hill Road (FS 18N01) approximately 5 miles, turn left on Kings Campground Road. Campground is approximately 1 mile east
This was a nice place. 2 restrooms available in somewhat decent condition. Has one large open area with one small tree in the middle to set camp. And another smaller area just past the rest rooms with good shade from large tree's surrounding the camp site (where I set up camp). Only thing missing was a river. I Would camp here again.
Photos do not represent the campgrounds. Drove out here with my kids. When we arrived both my kids ages 4 and 7 where disappointed by the conditions of the grounds. To top it all off the half a mile approaching the campgrounds is lined with groups of people who have turned the mountain rang into a shooting rang. I don't have anything against guns but having a campground next to a constant barrage of semiautomatic weapon fire isn't my style.
But if your looking for a place to shoot guns and drink beer this place would be great for you.
Campground is just OK. The road there is horrible, with many deep potholes and damage overall. Do not recommend unless you are in a truck.
Just found this place out recently, I went to gorman ohv park(hungry valley) and found this hidden gem next to piru creek(youtube piru creek) and fell in love with this place must enter thru hungry valley ohv to access it need 4x4 or any vehicle with clearance
I come here prepared to off-road to the location, tight one lane, along canyons..with my own water, wood and whats needed. No other place is the same or feels as far away from anyone, especially at night. Government land meaning only medical card patients wont be hassled. ;-)
