So happy to have found this place! Stayed for two mid-week nights in mid-Sept since weekends were all booked up. Only a small percentage of sites are available at present because of Covid restrictions, but that made for an extremely quiet and thoroughly enjoyable experience. The campground is quite clean...and I could go on for days about how great the restrooms are! The quasi-outdoor showers are plentiful (there are 6 plus 2 inside handicap showers) with plenty of hot water...and they are free! Temps in the 60's made morning showers totally do-able. Area to wash dishes available outside the restroom. Parking area there, too. Picnic tables and fire rings in great shape. Great place to enjoy the outer Cape. Can't wait to return! Thanks, DCR!

Rude and spiteful.

The railtrail is right there but they've blocked access, so people can't go in or out. This is bad for campers and it means that the railtrail extension doesn't go anywhere. You have to turn around and backtrack from this blocked dead end.

Not sure what the harm would be in letting campers access it, and letting riders exit through the campground.

Passed through here yesterday (Sunday Aug 6,2023) on bikes when we hit the end of the CCRT rail-trail on our way to Wellfleet. This beautiful campground was completely deserted, it was spooky. We asked a nice staff member why? They said they don't have funding to stay open 7 days a week so they close on Sunday....yes a State campground on the Cape was closed due to staffing. Also, signs read "No Bicycles". I think this was to prevent the traffic from the Cape Cod Rail Trail riders from cutting through the on campground roads. Clearly constructed and bicycle barriers between the CCRT and the campground with signs to keep you out. Seems crazy to not allow bicycles in a campground, and even for the kids camping there too? Beautiful camp site, very odd rules. Also, if you plan to use this as a path by walking bikes through please note there are high risk busy roads near and at the crossing Rt 6 to travel by bicycle from the rail trail/campground to Wellfleet.

Clean and private camp ground. Bathrooms and showers. The rail trail is right there! 5 min bike to bakery. Great location! Too bad dogs aren’t allowed.

Nice place, super friendly staff. We had a good trip motorcycle camping.

The sites are small and very close so keep that in mind mind but overall we had

A great time. Clean bathrooms and nice outdoor showers.

Also be aware, put your food away. There is a family of turkeys that circle around all day and roost above you. Pretty much always around, Pretty cool.
