Kimball Park is one of my favorite places anywhere. It's located on the headwaters of Wood River. The water is crystal clear and cold. The water temperature is usually between 39 and 42° all year long.

Kimball park has become a popular place to kayak. Most people put in at Kimball Park and pull out at the Wood River day use area 3 miles down the road from Kimball Park. The trip down to the day use area via the river at six and a half miles. It meanders between the forest and beautiful meadows. If you are a kayaking down the river there is a very small irrigation dam you can either Port around the dam or shoot through it. If you shoot through it you have to lay down in your kayak or canoe it's very narrow only about three or four feet. I have also kayaked from Kimball Park down to fort Klamath. When I do that I leave my bicycle under the bridge at fort Klamath so I can ride back up to my truck. If I kayak to the Wood River day use area I leave my bicycle at the day use area and secure it to a post at the day use area then ride it back to Kimball park where my truck is located.

There are also a few small camping sites available. There are also a restroom.

At the upper most part of the park there is a small footbridge so you are able to access the actual headwaters where comes out of the mountain.

Be sure to take your camera with you! The park is one of the most beautiful places you will ever see.

The park also has a small corral for horses.

The park is really small and it's become extremely popular the last 2 years. I have been going there for decades.

I've always enjoyed taking my dogs with me. One of the great advantages to letting them swim their is the water as crystal clear and clean. The dogs come out clean without having to give them a bath and they love it.

There are a few picnic tables.

If you have a large RV or trailer I wouldn't recommend it there's not enough room.

Absolutely gorgeous! The water is crystal clear, and freezing! We started here on our paddle boards and went down the Wood River quite a ways. Beautiful but so, so cold!
