Small, clean, well-maintained campground. 4th of July weekend and NO NOISE. Also NO LARGE RVs ( bus-style or 5th wheelers).. Pit toilets were clean and not smelly. No phone service from Verizon or AT&T.

This is one of the most peaceful and beautiful places on Earth. I have been camping here for more than 20 years. The wildlife I have seen here are birds, deer, frogs and squirrels. Once I caught a tiny fish that I threw back. There are some nice trails that lead into the Three Sisters Wilderness for some great hiking. The forest in the wilderness has a strange, quiet, ominous feeling; I call it the Forest of Fangorn.

There are two pit toilets and a well with a hand-crank pump. I don't drink the water without filtering or boiling it any more; two incidents of drinking it unfiltered resulted in some uncomfortable digestive disturbances!

I go here when I need some perspective on my life, and I have made some important life decisions while resting under the tall trees.
