We stayed in a motel room. The guy at the desk greeted us with a parrot on his shoulder. No problem . BUT. there was parrot poop on the coffee maker and other places in the room. Digusting. The icing on the cake: When we deposited our key upon leaving the key container was encrusted with parrot poop. Very outdated accommodations. Grounds not kept up. Did enjoy the lake view and the deer who visited.

This place was the the highlight of our vacation. I didn't have high expectations because of the reviews. These little cabins were great. A little old but had everything in them we needed. The lake offered tons entertainment and was totally beautiful. The staff was friendly and completely stayed out of our business unless we needed something. If you are all stuck up and expecting a freshly built 5 star resort this is definitely not the place for you. If you like adventure and are a go with the flow type of crowd, grateful for the little unique things in life kind then this is your type of place. Total gem in my opinion!

This place is alright!

Right away you’ll notice that The outside of the buildings have been neglected which admittedly made us worry what the rooms looked like but Once we got our keys we were pleasantly surprised with the cleanliness of our room.

It smells, looks and feels kind of like your grandma’s house. Most of the furnishings look to be from the 70’s but there is a nice TV mounted on the wall and The kitchen is stocked with everything you’d need.

I should mention that the Bathroom door in our room was basically a heavy curtain, so if you really value your privacy, that could be an issue and if you are a sucker for a nice pillow you may want to bring your own!

We really enjoyed our stay at this charming, historic cabin. The rooms were very clean and the kitchen very well equipped. The views of the quiet lake were outstanding! First view of the cabins as you arrive is disconcerting - while neat they need some TLC for sure. But I'd recommend it for a quiet place off the highway that is roomy and comfortable.
