Always look forward to vacationing here. Absolutely beautiful accommodations and friendly hosts. Can't wait until next year.
We stayed here back on Easter weekend and it was perfect. We had a great time and would definitely go back.
Great place! Very clean and beautiful place! The owners Laura and Montey are wonderful, Laura would text every morning to make sure everything was fine with the cabin and our stay. Made our reservation for next year's ice fishing trip so looking forward to going back! Hopefully we can get up there this summer and try it to! Definitely recommend staying here you are coming up you will not be disappointed!
The Rusty Lure lodge is very well put together, and situated right on the shoreline. Be aware, there are no linens aside from a fitted sheet on the beds, no spare trash bags, very limited utensils, and no cooking materials aside from a spice rack. The lighting is very dim in the whole lodge, especially the dining/bar area making for a kind of melancholy feel to the whole place. The water is highly chlorinated- to the point our dog wouldn't drink it., so bring your own drinking water if you are sensitive to Chlorine additives. I recommend bringing spare trash bags, and your own cooking materials, especially if you have a favorite kitchen knife, as the ones there are beyond dull. You will need to bring your own dish towels/ hand towels, and bath towels. Don't follow google maps across the Dike, instead come in from the north. There are 2 BBQ's as well. The beds are loud but comfortable.
Had a great experience at the Lodge. The interior was beautiful, clean, and was very well put together. The owners sent an itemized list about what was there and what we needed to bring. They told me that bedding was on the bed and when we arrived, only a fitted sheet was on the bed but I was able to find top sheets in the laundry room where they had bins labeled, so don't worry, they provided the necessary bedding for all! The owners are super friendly and would text to check and see if we were enjoying the place and if there was anything we needed. Directions too the place were a little hard and Google tried to take us across a dike to the Lodge, but that's Google's fault, not the owners. My recommendation would be to come in from the North or from the town of De Smet, SD if you're coming up from Mitchell, SD. All in all, we had a great experience at the Lodge and will be using it in the future!
