Johnson Bar Group Site is located 4.5 miles east of Lowell, ID on Forest Road 223 (Selway River Road). The group site is between the paved road and the river. From Kooskia, go east 22 miles on US 12 and south nearly 4 miles on Forest Road 223.
Awesome place to have a picnic and go swimming...for some it is a good place to camp specially if you have a huge group
Nice and quiet campsites. Fishing could be better. Can't beat the scenery thought.
AMAZING SPOT!! Stayed here for 2 nights and it was perfect. Limited facilities just a toilet and water. But the location is amazing. Great trails near by as well. There is a small beach right there on the river. Not very busy at all. I recommend bringing a floating tube/raft to float the small rapids. Perfect place and can't wait to come back.
