Kanakadea Park at Almond Dam is a county park featuring pavilions with picnic tables and grills, a playground, basketball court, baseball field, volleyball area, horseshoes, kayaking/canoeing, boat launch, fishing, hiking trails, including access to the Finger Lakes Trail, and camping with electric, flush toilets and showers.
There are 70 sites able to accommodate tents, campers, and RVs. However, only 40 of these sites are electric. There are also 4 primitive cabins, 2 of which have electricity. Dogs are allowed (with proof of rabies vaccination) at the campsite but not in the cabins.
Beautiful, the staff are friendly, sites are good sized!!
Love this place! We are surrounded by nature! Weekends are busy, as expected. Weekdays are so peaceful! Electric hookups only; potable water fill and dump station are on site.
We didn't actually camp, we just had some Girl scout activities in the pavilion. The pavilions are nice. The girls next to them are nice. I did not use any of the bathrooms. The hiking trails are great. Very nice place
What a beautiful, well kept campground. It was moderately busy and so peaceful. A shout out to the Army Corps of Engineers for this unique, well-designed oasis. Camp sites are close together but nicely laid out and well-equipped. Bathrooms are very well maintained. Very dog friendly. Judy, the manager, was kind and helpful. The trails are diverse and interesting. Can't wait to go back!
