Pueblo Park Campground is located in a large, cool stand of old growth ponderosa pines adjacent to the northern edge of the Blue Range Wilderness boundary with Dangerous Park Trail #515 on the northern end of the campground, and the WS Mountain Trail #43 immediately south of the campground entrance.
Take Hwy 180, 23 miles north to the Pueblo Park turnoff west on 6 miles on County Rd. CO13 – 18 miles south of Reserve on Hwy. 180.
Fine remote campground but nothing super special. The road in is fine for cars and in my case motorcycles. The sites are OK but not very private and they are very dusty which is caused I suspect by folks bringing in larger RVs and ATVs. You can get to AZ along this road but that requires a 4x4 as it gets pretty rocky.
Stayed there during hunting season. Great place to go and reclaim your mind, body and soul. No cellular service in that area. Very peaceful.
Free camping, 14 day stay limit! Vault toilets, but no water. From 180 we drove 6 miles down 232/Pueblo Park road, a winding one-lane dirt road which is perfectly fine for cars or trucks but a little sketchy for longer vehicles or those towing a trailer (not impossible, but not many places to turn around either). As of last week the creek was dry. Visited on a Monday and even with the long drive out, it was busier than we expected. Found one quieter area but there was a dog(?) carcass there so we decided to move on. It was a cool drive & apparently there are some awesome hikes nearby, but we decided to go to Head of the Ditch Campground instead for peace & quiet.
