Snow Lake is a small reservoir located in the Reserve Ranger District approximatley 30 miles from the town of Reserve. Snow Lake is most easily accessed via FR 142.
it's a magical place that made me move to New Mexico. on the edge of untouched wilderness and sacred places to the native people's of the Gila. Just pick up after yourself so we can appreciate it for generations to come.
Spent the night of March 12th at the campground there. Nice facilities and camping spots. I went there to do some flyfishing. As of this writing the lake is about half full...or empty depending on how you want to look at it. The water was the color of mud. Didnt get so much as a strike in two days of fishing. They actually stocked the lake while I was there. It is a beautiful area.
My absolute favorite spot in NM . The wilderness here is just beautiful.
