From Robbinsville, NC, take U.S. Rt. 129 north 6.8 miles to Cheoah Point Recreation Area sign. Turn left at sign and go 0.1 miles to Cheoah Point campground sign. Turn left at sign and go 0.7 miles to campground entrance.
My favorite campground! Fresh water, great roads, hike to the mountains with great acces & parking. Free camping, keep it clean!
We loved our stay, the best camping ever. Clean restrooms and showers, the camp host does an amazing job.
Great spot at the end of the dragons tail. Privacy is lacking but the location makes up for it.
We spent a week here and had an amazing time. Very close to some great hikes and gorgeous views! Only a short jaunt to Robbinsville where they have a grocery store for supplies. If you stay here spots 14-17 are the prime spots ,for sure, and would be well worth the walk in to those tent sites. The camp host was very nice and made us feel welcome. If we ever get back to NC we will definitely stay here again!
