This yurt in Western North Carolina is a great launching point to explore the surrounding streams, biking trails and hiking trails. Or you can enjoy checking out the night sky through the glass dome inside the yurt. There is no wifi or service, so enjoy being off the grid with your four legged friend in tow, as this is a pet-friendly campground. The yurt allows up to 4 guests per visit. The yurt has a full size and queen size bed. There is a kitchenette, microwave, and mini fridge.
You can bike to waterfalls in minutes in nearby DuPont State Park, Jones Gap State Park, and many other nature areas. You can also paddle or fish on the French Broad River or Davidson River Don't forget to check out Downtown Brevard as well.
I can’t say enough good things about this true little slice of heaven. What I loved - It was not just a getaway, but a memorable experience. The property is private and is nestled among lush mountain vegetation and beautiful trees. The soothing sounds and stunning views of the Toe River nourished my soul - the river was so beautiful on our tubing trips down the river - crystal clear sandy bottom with so many places for us to stop to marvel at the unique rocks and mica on the sand bars, relax and sunbathe on the large flat rocks while watching the kids and dogs play. The accommodations were thoughtfully designed, cozy and comfortable to calm the mind and relax the senses with comfortable beds. No matter where you are on the property, you are immersed in peaceful, natural surroundings. There were so many spaces to explore or relax - multiple decks and porches to view and listen to nature, relax in the hot tubs, roll out a yoga mat, nap in the hammocks, kick back at fire pit, grill at the outdoor kitchen, hike and bike, swim in the river, and a large grassy yard along the river! Every day was just perfect, thank you ‘lil slice of heaven!
This place is amazing. Private, peaceful, fun, relaxing. Mary Kay and Clark are the epitome of Super Hosts. Their lil slice a heaven is an experience like no other!
I recently had the pleasure of staying in one of the three yurts along the shore of the river at Lil Slice a Heaven. The property includes a well equipped outdoor kitchen and entertaining area, along with the most comfortable bed and linens. We enjoyed dinner by the fire in the evening, and coffee on the porch of the Yurt in the morning while watching and listening to the river. Such a refreshing escape, I highly recommend visiting!
My ladyfriend and I had the opportunity to spend a night glamping in the yurts at Lil Slice a Heaven at the end of May and we'll be back for sure. While the accommodations are simply fantastic (the outdoor kitchen is better equipped than my home kitchen), they pale in comparison to two other aspects of this spot.
The first is the location and its scenery. Lil Slice is located in the Toe River valley. The yurts are a couple dozen feet from the river with opportunities to fish and swim. We watched a bald eagle fly down the valley.
The second best part of this location are the hosts, Mary Kay and Clark who are both hospitable, charming and actively sought to make our stay as enjoyable as possible.
If you can visit, you should.
Lil Slice of Heaven could not have been named more perfectly! Mary Kay and Clark have the most amazing location in the mountains, on the river. We loved everything about the entire property, especially the pups and the hosts. Grilling, singing, and dancing by the fire on the river was so much fun, as was relaxing on the bed swing and in the hot tub. Lil Slice of Heaven is undoubtedly our favorite place to get away.
