About Campground

**ESTABLISHED 2022**

Locally owned and operated, Mountainside RV Park is nestled in the heart of the Gunnison National Forest. Located on the south side of McClure Pass, the area is surrounded by various attractions, including the “Ragged Peak Range,” Paonia Reservoir, and multiple hiking/ATV trails. The park is located off West Elk Scenic Loop 133 at mile marker 31. We offer RV sites with electrical hookups only, tent sites and restrooms with hot showers and flushable toilets. We also have camping cabins, a cottage and the downstairs of the main house. The “Muddy Creek” runs next to the sites and feeds into Paonia Reservoir 3 miles down from the park. Tourists flock to see the famous Crystal Mill which is located 20 miles up the road in Marble, CO. Located off Highway 133 sits a free, public hot springs "The Penny Hot Springs" just 30 minutes from the park. Our park is only an hour away from the infamous Glenwood Hot Springs. About 20 minutes south of the sites is the beautiful wine country of Paonia, host to multiple wineries and orchards to indulge. Whether sitting back and enjoying the 360-degree views from your site, paddle boarding on the Reservoir, exploring the local wineries, hunting or fishing, Mountainside RV Park has more to offer across the board than any other. **\*\*DISCLAIMER\*\*** There is NO cell phone service on our campground. We do have Wi-Fi available now. But take this opportunity to separate yourself from technology and focus more on spending time with your loved ones and enjoying the beautiful scenic outdoors. Come see us and enjoy nature at its finest. We sell ice, firewood, gas and propane.

This place is amazing! Excellent tent sites shaded with great trees, tables and firepits. Super friendly hosts. The bathrooms and showers were great. The creek runs right past the sites, and we spent the afternoon hanging out in the water with some beers. Just what we needed after a long motorcycle ride. Propaganda Pie for pizza in Redstone is about 20 miles away over Mclure pass, great ride for dinner. Will definitely be staying here again on our next trip!

Spent two nights at this incredible location. The facilities are very well taken care of. The owners were very friendly and happy to help me find places to hike and visit while in the area. If you're unfamiliar with low light pollution, you'll be in for a wonderful surprise. This location provides a great star gazing opportunity that everyone should experience. I will of course be returning as soon as I can.

Tina and Tom were excellent Hosts! We loved the park and our kids (middle and high school) loved playing in the muddy creek. Everything is clean, showers, flushing toilets, wifi... no cell service but everything you need to disconnect from city life! Make sure to make a trip into Paonia for wine tasting!

What a fantastic camp grounds. My wife and I stayed 4 nights and it was GREAT.... We were sad to leave. The owners are the nicest people in the world!!! Peaceful, beautiful and relaxing. We will definitely be back. The night sky was amazing. We loved that the grounds were not all commercialized. Raw but comfortable. Showers are uniquely cool. They even have a mirror in the shower for shaving etc. This place is a hidden gem. Electric hook-ups only but water is available to fill your tank at the showers as you pass by. If you are looking for a quiet getaway Mountainside is the perfect place.
