We love the Pioneer Cabins. The cabins are set in the beautiful forest, right near a rushing creek. They are quaint and comfortable and have everything you need. There are trails available right on the property and a wonderful hot tub you can reserve. Leah and Matt are friendly and helpful and have the sweetest trio of dogs. We only wished we could have stayed longer and can't wait to come back.
Absolutely love it here. It's so peaceful. Close enough to both Crested Butte and Gunnison to get supplies or do some touristy things but far enough away to be out of the thick of it. Great location, right near several trail heads and on a road that offers an amazing scenic drive. Our cabin was fabulous and was nicely outfitted with cooking supplies, linens, firewood, a grill and a fireplace area. No AC, but plenty of screened windows offering a great breeze and the sound of the rushing stream. They are extremely friendly here and they offer books and games if you feel like staying in.
We stayed in the Oh-Be-Joyful cabin, and it was everything we hoped for and more. The cabin felt so detached and private even though town and hikes were a short drive away. I loved being able to take the dog for an early hike on the property itself while the kids slept in. We had the best time, and we will be coming back as often as we can to this delightful place. Even though the cabins are small;l, we never felt crowded with 4 people and a large dog. Kitchen had everything we needed, the beds were spot comfortable, and it cleared away the stress and chaos of city living.
Our Sunshine cabin definitely proved to be a ray of sunshine to us! Charming, quaint, cozy, clean, well-organized, and stocked with everything needed to make our stay a memorable one. We especially loved the fire pit area with chairs in a peaceful setting right by the river. Our 2 Golden Retrievers loved hanging outside with us too, whether chilling at our feet or having fun in the river.
Lots of hiking close by, and Leah kindly recommended some of her favorite hikes and dining spots. Truly a gem of a place!
We stayed in the Homestead cabin and loved our time in the snowy woods!
The descriptions of the individual cabins are spot on so read carefully.
Matt & Leah were excellent communicators.
Highly recommended for a quiet retreat and/or a family getaway.
