Nice place by the river to cool off, sit in the shade or take a short walk but some people think it's their personal dumping grounds. 😡
So Gross. Always piles and piles of trash here. Dumped furniture, tires, household items and literal garbage. It's such a shame. It's from the trashy people that do trashy things that frequent this place. If you do visit, it would be great if you could bring some gloves and trash bags.
This place was nothing short of a total disaster!
Think horror movie, mixed with a little "Series of Unfortunate Events" and that would only begin to describe the experience we had...
The place is strewn with garage of all types and homeless encampments - some abandoned, some not... The road is rutted up something awful and was full of water the night we stopped, and quickly left, the Old De Beque Bridge.
Oh, the best part?! There was also a burned out car hidden under 50 yards from the turn off the main road... We quickly nope-roped the heck on out of there!
If you need to stop and close your eyes for a bit, there are TWO incredibly nice rest areas just a bit further (maybe 10 miles) East that are well worth waiting for.
This place was filthy, kinda scary and definitely didn't feel at all safe!!
