Some friends and I booked at Mountain View for some fun in the Maine Mountains and really enjoyed this location and amenities for our trip. The owners are extremely friendly and outgoing. We booked suites in the motel and I found them to be well laid out, efficient use of space, with nice kitchenettes, fridge, sitting area, A/C in window, and really friendly people nearby in the campground. If you are up in this area and are looking to support a nice local business with tons of inside track knowledge on biking/hiking/snowmobiling trails in the area definitely give the Mountain View Motel and Campground a try!
The Mountain View Motel is a great, clean, affordable place to stay. The owner is very nice and goes the extra mile to make your stay nice, with amenities like the big covered fire pit in the evenings. The rooms are nice, nothing fancy, but warm, accessible, and clean. Compared to staying on-mountain this is far and away more affordable, and only about 7 minutes up the road from Sugarloaf. I have stayed there several times and unless you are looking for a fancy place I would recommend it.
Clean simple friendly and cosy. The big red house (with kitchen and lounge) is nice in case of rajn. Hot showers are so nice after a day hiking. Will go back!
We stayed here as a last minute camping site. We checked in late, after sunset. It was quiet and well maintained. The site we got was not flat in any area, so setting up the tent was a little difficult... There were other open sites around us that looked better, hard to say at night. There were a couple others that checked in after us, so there were a lot of headlights until pretty late, but everything was quiet and clean. Bathrooms are clean and easy to get to, but not well marked so ask about that at the desk. Showers are coin operated, so bring quarters... We weren't told that at check-in, so in the morning it was a bit of a surprise. Also, the bathrooms are surrounded by a nice grassy area that's very damp in the morning... Take care. All in all it's a nice, well cared for campground. I can't speak to the actual rooms, there were none available when we got there
We really enjoyed our stay here. The room and grounds were very clean and the staff member who helped us was extremely friendly and accommodating. Great value as well. Rustic and charming - we will definitely be back!
