Nice campground. I enjoyed the hiking it had a few spots to look at the river. Nice wooded trails some where a little crazy with rocks and going up hill which were slippery. My husband got eaten up by mosquitos every now and then but to be expected in the woods or by the water. Bathrooms were clean sadly the showers had a sign posted saying no hot water 😕.
Nice state park with long even camp sites to park your RV. There are wooded areas between sites so even if you can see the next camp site through the trees you feel a sense of privacy. There is no grass in the sites but it's still beautiful here. Pike Creek runs right behind our site and there's a little observation deck where you can watch and listen as the water runs over the rocks. There are hiking trails here and a visitor center you can tour and learn about the solo flights of Charles Lindberg. You can also tour his childhood home. This is our first camping trip here but we will definitely be back!
This is a nice park. The campground doesn't have a ton of sites, but they are very private. A lot of space between sites. There are several hiking trails through the woods and along the creek. A decent picnic area outside the campground as well. Not too far from town if you find you need to get something.
This place was well Worth the drove from the cities. Large park on Mississippi. Fishing. Boating. Camping. They have it all.
Charles Lindbergh, the aviator, grew up at this location, and his boyhood home and museum are now under the direction of the Morrison County Historical Society. There are worth a visit. Lindbergh state park (across the road) has camping spots and lots of wooded area and trails to walk. It's a great getaway for a summer day.
