I go there almost everyday, living one mile away, it's very nice, very few people, I ride my bike, dog runs alongside, we swim, unless to cold, few people, quiet, nice, Flower Creek is a 15 minute walk north, it's a sanctuary of small dunes, that is 100% dog friendly, very pretty area, most people don't even know it's there, it's always empty, ( best part ) Google Earth what I'm talking about, you have to walk the beach/waterline, one mile north, of Meinert park, - Your there 😲👍❤️😃
Nice county park with full hook up was great for the weekend. People were great who run the place, very friendly and helpful. I would love to return sometime. You are camped a ways from the beach so a bike or transportation to the beach I would recommended. Plenty of parking and beautiful beach.
Amazing! We always try to visit the lakeshore when we can. After a stay at Double JJ, I opened google maps and found this park was only 15 minutes away. We plan to come back. We visited December 30th, 2023 around noon and the weather was good. There was still frost on the sand that hadn’t seen sun.
