This campground was a great, unexpected gem for our one night stay. There were no frills or thrills, but the staff and campers were all very friendly. The thing that earned it 5 stars was the bathroom! It was the cleanest bathroom, never mind a campsite bathroom. I took an amazing shower with hot water and felt so fresh. Better than any camp bathroom I’ve ever been to. If you need somewhere to stay on your way through Burlington, this is a great place. Rates were good too.
We rented a site two seasons in a row here for a month. The first time we had a small travel trailer(18ft) and were in the back part of the campground under the pine trees. it was quiet and shaded. the neighbors across from us were in an RV and the the ones along our row were tent and trailer campers who just stayed a few nights at a time. The second season we had a larger motorhome and parked on the edge of the campground in a site with a seasonal trailer on one side and an RV on the other side. This is a simple campground, with functional, but not fancy bathrooms and showers. The pool is clean and refreshing and there is laundry available as well as convenience items in the office building. If you're looking for a high-end campground for your million dollar coach, this is not it. If you're looking for a super convenient site by a wonderful park across from the lake with simple conveniences for a fair price, then Mallets Bay Campground is right for you
What else do ya need
A pool
A nice town beach on the lake across the street
Nice shady tent sights in the back past the locals seasonals
Super nice folks
Bathrooms are clean and hot showers are included
Don't let the bad reviews sway you, this is a nice place minutes from downtown Burlington
Its a campground not a resort
Peace
Enjoy
We didn't camp here but we swam in the pool, played at the playground, and skateboarded at the little skate park all for $5/each (for the pool). There's also tennis courts and a great covered area for eating with a few grills. Plus the backdrop of Mallets Bay was beautiful. Plan on returning:)
abominable.
if it were not for the lake, i think this place would be out of business. horrible facilities. filthy bathrooms and showers. stalls leave very little privacy. if someone is above average in height, you will easily be over the partitions.
unpleasant customer service. drugs smoked throughout the small and cramped grounds so those who despise and disagree with it cannot avoid it.
i would NEVER recommend this place.
