From the S: Travel Rte 29 N to Rte 24 W, right on 24 into Rustburg. In Rustburg turn right on Hwy 615 and travel 5.5 miles to Hwy 650. Overall a great stay. The ranger Josh was extremely helpful during our stay, showing the grounds and explaining the rules. The place just needs to be updated honestly, but it's a good price, extremely quiet, family friendly, huge pool, close to attractions, etc
This is a Thousand Trails RV Park, for which we purchased a very expensive membership. This TT Lynchburg park is completely run down, falling apart, dirty, unkept, and in need of desperate road and electrical repair. It is not recommended that you stay here if there is any "rain" coming as your RV sight could flood with rushing water and cause you to be stranded until the road is repaired. It is sad because this park has so much potential. We did speak with the staff on sight and they were very polite and kind, which prompted me to give this park 1 more star.
This campground has great potential. Overall it was OK. The roads were rutted and rough. This may have been caused by recent rains, but were still pretty bad.
The grass on the open areas needs to be cut.
Many of the camper sites were non functional and had bags over the power boxes.
Some of the camper sites were not very level.
The bath house in the section we stayed in is definitely dated and could use some remodeling.
There is no cable for TV and there is no Wi-Fi.
Overall it is not a bad campground and if the roads were fixed I would stay there again.
While I agree with many of the reviews about the campground needing quite a bit of work, I love the location and the ranger that checked us in was the absolute friendliest ranger we've ever met in two years of TT. Actually, everyone we met was super friendly. Recommend giving it a try but realize that the other reviews are indeed correct, lota of upkeep to be done.
They have a serious erosion problem. You can hardly drive to your spot without bottoming out. Be sure to choose a spot that is well graveled so you're not in mud if it rains. Beautiful Park lots of trails and things to do, but most things are past maintenance and need repair or replaced. In the case of the baseball diamond, just remove it. There is no dog park. There is only one working washing machine. I didn't use the shower house. Rustic is the best description.
