We did the driftwood trees. It was so much fun. The drills died but the ranger had a back up plan.

Always a beautiful walk! The trails are very well maintained and we always enjoy the natural playground!

I’ve never seen as many animals in one area as I did this park. I utilized the camp ground and had an amazing time remaining in the serenity of the Potomac River. I would highly recommend this park for anyone, to include young children.

09/10/23..5 stars..Went during the week so absolutely nobody else was there. It was so beautiful and peaceful. Just the sounds of the river and nature. Already booked another reservation.update as of 09/29/23..stayed 09/24-08 through the 09/29/23..it was beautiful and quiet.stayed during the week. Had to give only 4 stars because myself and two others stayed a week and not one time was the two trashed cans cleaned. They were full to the top Sunday when we arrived. And the porter potties was cleaned once but not dumped..they were sprayed with chemicals and water, was a complete mess and all toilet paper soaked (glad we brought our own toilet paper) other than than that it was wonderful. Completely peaceful and relaxing. Loved being out there. Enjoyed our week!

Was visited by the ranger on Thursday (our last night) and he was awesome!!

Beautiful view of the Chesapeake and lots of birds to see. We collected a couple shark teeth and there were lots of pretty rocks along the beach which must be nearly a mile long. Picnic tables, resting benches and miles of trails to explore. There is a campground and overall its a lovely location. Visitor center and restrooms available with well marked trails and playgrounds.
