Natural Chimneys has a 165 site family-oriented campground with water and electrical hook-ups. Most electrical hook-ups are 30-amps with some offering both 30-amp and 50-amp and some exclusively 50-amp sites. There are a limited number of sewer sites; however there are dumping facilities available for campers at no additional charge. All sites with electrical and water hook-ups have one picnic table and one fire ring provided with the ability to be relocated within your site. Many sites are shaded and all are known to be rather spacious and accommodating.
The campground also has a separate section for tent campers with rather large, spacious sites. These sites are not equipped with water or electrical hook-ups, are for tents only and run near the riverfront.
Two shower-houses featuring hot showers and two restrooms provide facilities for campers throughout the campground.
Camping is available in season, by advanced reservation or on a first come, first served basis for walk-ins/drive-ins.
This is a gorgeous place just full of nature. The information about how the Chimneys were created was wonderful and informative.
We also hiked a couple of the nature walks which were beautiful to see. The camping area is large and spacious, the rest rooms were clean and nice. The office personnel were friendly and helpful.
Although we did not take our rig into this particular campground. It seemed as though it would be fairly easy to get a large rig around and are hoping to make use of this campground when we are back in the area.
Great place for the family and geologists with lots of information and campgrounds, just needs a bit more protection against vandals and is mostly empty around noon
We camped here for 3 nights and really enjoyed it. The campground is very well maintained and the spots are very spacious and provide pretty good privacy. The staff was very friendly. The spots are fairly level but werr all grass in the area we were in so be aware of that in case there's been a significant amount of rain and the ground is soft (not an issue during our stay). There are nice trails to walk your dog and the chimneys are magnificent to see from below and above. This is a great campground to get away to for a long weekend.
Great place for a picnic, short hike, or afternoon chill session. Lots of tables, some shelters, about 2 miles of trails.
There is seasonal camping, probably great for tents, separate area. RVs might be used to higher standards; very few level sites with elec and water, very little vegetation separating sites.
NO FEE for day use, at least this time of year. BTW there aren't stores nearby, so plan accordingly.
