One of the best thousand trail parks we stayed in. Great big and deep pool, kids pool, nice mini golf plenty of activities at the club house, a large property to walk, two lakes. RV spots are leveled but kind of narrow and small, but plenty of extra parking for your cars. No WiFi or cable, some of the air channels and decent Verizon service.
I love that this place is off the beaten path. The staff was very friendly, the sites were level, and it is very quiet at night. The neighboring town of Colonial Beach has a small town vibe, although it is not the "season" yet, so I assume the summers can be busy. We went to the Ice House brewery and sat by the pier with our dog and sampled some tasty beers and food. I would definitely stay here again.
We spent a weekend here with another family. The pool was great for the kids, kept the occupied and cooled down. Well maintained playground area. Everything to play shuffle board and mini golf. The campsites were smaller but adequate for our needs. It was quiet and peaceful. Bathrooms were kept clean. We will definitely return.
The campground is great. Quiet, pet friendly, fishing (catch and release) recreational room, large clean pool, miniature golf, shuffle board, volleyball and pickle ball, oversized checker board, staff is awesome! What more could you ask for
We really enjoyed our stay at this park with all of the shade and just how quiet it was. We arrived on a Sunday afternoon and was greeted by the Rangers who were both extremely nice! We got an escort to our assigned site and fortunately the site behind us was empty so it was an easy pull through. Hookups were convenient to the location of the camper and we didn't have any issues with them during our stay. We did get a few days of rain while here but our site drained fairly well. Unfortunately, the pot holes didn't drain so this can make for a messy outing while walking or leaving the campground. The pool, putt putt course and all other activities were well maintained and you could really tell that the management cared about the way the park looked. Overall we had a great time at the park and are looking forward to the next time we are in the area to stay here again.
