Beautiful camping area for campers and RVs. You do have to be careful of leaving any food or garbage out, there are bears and racoons around, and they will come into your camp if you leave anything around. Bathrooms and showers are modern and clean. Very nice place to camp.
I have camped here multiple times and this time it was a havoc here. The croud was wild and very noisy, this isn’t the same sparkling clean campground anymore. It says no alcohol allowed, There were very intimidating drunk people speaking loudly, loud music playing all night, not just in our loop but seemed like the whole campground was loud and drunk. A once used to be safe campsite, it makes me feel very unsafe. Families should definitely stay away.
And to top it of, a cleaning lady/whoever was cleaning the campsites walked up to our site in the morning and questioned us if we had reservation and we cannot book already reserved site. Even after repeating ourselves that we are the ones who had reserved this site, she kept speaking random bullcrap. VERY DISRESPECTFUL. She even went a step ahead to ask for our car registration which I denied to provide. Why should I show my car registration?
Overall a very horrible experience I had at the Rhododendron campsite no. 546. I would never come back here after this traumatic experience. I suggest the same and would not recommend my friends this state park. Even though we had reservation for two nights, we left immediately the next day. Good luck with the horrible service guys.
It’s nice except the campground which are not as ideal as a one for rent.
Its a modern but non-electric camp site at Rhododendron. This is the second stay at the Promise land state park (first being in cabin) and we simply love the park.
We had an enjoyable camping experience. The weather was great for the Labor Day weekend and marked a great end to the summer. The Verizon connection is spotty so be prepared for barely any connection. Overall it was a great first time camping experience.
