About Campground

Located on Toledo Bend Reservoir, one of the country's largest man-made reservoirs, North Toledo Bend State Park provides a venue for a wide variety of water-related activities in a pleasant environment. And for land-based activities, more than 900 acres are available for camping, picnicking, hiking, and relaxing in the heart of nature. Available day-use facilities include a meeting room which can be reserved for group functions, a full size swimming pool with restrooms for the summer season, and a laundry with all the conveniences for a long or short stay in the park. Nearby are entrances to two hiking/biking trails - a 1.5-mile loop and a more demanding 4-mile loop. A boat launch with a double ramp, a large parking lot, boat rentals, and a fish cleaning station, provides access to the reservoir. Organizations associated with the Toledo Bend Reservoir host numerous freshwater fishing competitions which attract fishermen from around the country. Fishing, swimming, boating, hiking, picnicking, and relaxing – all of these activities and more are yours to enjoy at North Toledo Bend State Park.

FABULOUS place to visit!!! Campsites are all perfect with all of the typical amenities: water, tent pad, fire ring, electric etc. Bathrooms and shower areas are clean and very well maintained. Fishing pier and boat ramps are in great shape. Park staff and camp hosts are very friendly and helpful as well! Just too much good to list it all - we are totally going to come here again though!

A very nice and well maintained Louisiana state park!My family and I were able to hike the shorter trail, Dogwood Nature Trail 1.5m Loop, quite easily. The debris from the previous year's storms were tended to and we enjoyed this trail a lot! Afterward we went to the pool which is well maintained with very nice bathrooms attached. We're looking forward to going back to the beach area and to when the other longer trail opens up, hiking it too!

Evacuated at last minute to get away from Barry... decided to give North Toledo Bend State Park a try. This was our first time there. Very clean, showers and bath houses and also the camp sites. The staff was very pleasant to talk to. The walking trail to the pier was a nice little walk. There are cabins to rent as well as a group house that would make for PERFECT family reunions or meeting places. Was nice that there are washer and dryers for use for the campers. We didn't go into the pool but it was staffed with two lifeguards and it was big enough for many people to be in it at the same time. There is also a kiddy pool and storage cubbies to put your belongings. It was nice to know they offer outdoor church service on Sundays. We will be back with our kayaks and bicycles and fishing gear!

We have enjoyed ourselves. The serenity here was much needed 😌

Fishing, trail walking, grilling. Watching the sun set over the lake.

For those who are wondering about the upstairs in the cabins:

There is no bathroom upstairs. There is no closet upstairs. There are two twin beds with mattresses that felt like sleeping on logs. The master bedroom has an equally firm mattress. Surprisingly, the most comfortable sleep was on the pull out bed in the sofa. The pillows were also not comfortable. The white comforters were clean and surprisingly warm. The stairs are very dimly lit coming up, but pitch black going down.

The downstairs did not have a dishwasher and the review mentioning the highly scratched nonstick skillet was accurate. The wifi was down during our stay, but the cell phone service was 1-2 bars the whole stay. The steps going to the cabin door are very tall.

Beautiful cabin in a beautiful setting. Gorgeous views!
