About Campground

Spacious Skies Sandy Run (formerly Lazy Acres) Campground is a special little place in the Carolina Sandhills, right in the heart of Cumberland County, that may surprise you with its wonderfully unique brand of rustic charm.

As convenient as it gets minutes off I-95 at exit 44, you’ll turn onto the grounds and into the sandy grove of native longleaf pines, complete with catch-and-release fishing hole and bordering trail for meditative meandering. Come join us when it’s about time to pull off the road after a long day on your trip up north or coming down south, or plan to stay for a little while!

We are proud to announce our partnership with [Black Folks Camp Too]() and are now the first “unity blaze certified” collection of private campgrounds!

Being Unity Blaze Certified confirms that all 14 of our campgrounds and our team are committed Being Unity Blaze Certified confirms that all 15 of our campgrounds and our team are committed to making sure all campers know “You are Invited and Welcomed” — the Unity Blaze motto. While Spacious Skies has always firmly held this belief, we wanted to go one step further in partnering with BFCT to make sure all campground staff completed the Unity Blaze training program.

Very conveniently located off I-95. We stayed 2 nights traveling to and from the Outer Banks. Worked out great for us. We had a shaded campsite and full hook ups. Bathhouse and restrooms were clean. We will stay here again when we come this way.

Have been to this campground previously. It's a good campground with lots of sites BUT some of the trees need to be cleared next to the roads and when pulling into the sites. Good clean bath house and laundry. Very friendly check in and maintenance crew. Has a big playground, jump pad for kids. Propane on site. Nice wooded path around a catch and release pond. Good sized fenced dog park. Well kept campground.

We loved this campground. It was conveniently located from the highway. The site was very clean. And it was so quiet. Restrooms were clean and laundry facility clean. I was concerned about being close to the airport but it was no problem at all. Few planes and a low rumble. Not bad. And friendly camp personnel. We will definitely

return and highly recommend!

We stayed at this campground with our RV for short term (few days), as well as long term (multiple months). This location is excellent: easy to get to from I95, a few miles from major shopping and convenience and good access to Fayetteville, but very silent and away from the main road. The RV spots are spaciously spread out. Excellent service, especially from a lady called Donna, who is there most days. Everyone is very friendly and always willing to help. The restrooms are very nice and cleaned very regularly. The laundry equipment is very modern - pay by credit card and/or phone app. Excellent wi-fi, and good cellphone reception. Great dog-park, nice playground for kids, and a few walking trails with access straight from the campground.

We travel a lot with our RV and this place is above any of the places we have stayed before.

I have been going to this campground since the 80’s. Spacious Skies bought it about 2 years ago and it’s has plenty of growing pains. Several “Lazy Acres” (the old name of the campground) around instead of the new name and even the staff has a difficult time finding the sites

Sites numbers could be better and easier to see especially at night. Easy pull through sites.

As for the rates, I think they are way too high for what you get. I also had the chance to speak with the regional manager which is NOT customer based at all.

They do have a nice play area for the kids and the staff was friendly and we didn’t see much of them.
