We’re staying for a week. Make a reservation. Laundry trailer is free; get the code from Outdoor Rec. no cable for short stays. No tv channels . But we are happy. Only $25/night.

Careful following nav apps...access is via the west gate...some of the nav apps are going to try to take you to the old gate on Hwy 90 and that won't work.

Reservations highly recommended, we were here for about three weeks and there was never more than one or two spaces empty...full-up several nights.

Small park with extra long pull-through spaces accommodate all types of rigs, including one huge class A pulling a fairly long dual axle trailer that was here a few days.

Amenities: Laundry trailer is in site #21; has six huge washer dryer pairs...bring your own HE detergent, etc, or head over to the nearby Exchange to get some. Basic flush toilets are in the park adjacent to Famcamp, with cold water sinks. If you want a shower, you'll need to head over to the Losano Fitness Center several blocks away - near the Commissary. Trash is at the far end of the park near the closest restroom. Del Rio is less than 10 miles away with all the usual small city stuff you'd expect.

If you don't want to hear airplanes...keep driving, they fly a lot.

Very, very noisy! This is a pilot training base, so thier are lots of prop planes and jets taking off and land all day long. The middle of the sites pads, where you park are not long enough for a 45 foot motorhome.

The park had nice pads with privacy fences between spaces. There was not a bathhouse and bathrooms were not nice. We used the gym for showers. We thought the $30 a night for lack of on-site facilities was a bit much, even with full hookups. (Note: fantastic laundry room with free usage) On base amenities were only open limited hours and days.

During weekdays you will get a private airshow with all the training aircraft. If you have pets, the supersonic jets doing practice might be difficult if noise is an issue. (I loved watching them, cats not thrilled).

Don't miss the aircraft history display at the closed North Gate at the end of Liberty Street. About 10 vintage aircraft and history that is exceptionally done.

Good water and pressure and no issues with 50A service. While the laundry trailer is nice for those that need it, the camp itself needs a tuneup. For example, some of the waste connections do not have caps; ours had a green irrigation cover laid on top with a rock on top to hold it in place. On a still humid night, there is a definite sewer gas smell from these open connections.

While the camp boasts 20 sites, this is misleading. During our stay, it is clear at least 8 trailers are full-timers, evidenced by the amount of large toys and dog fencing around trailers, as well as servicemen and women in uniform coming and going from the various trailers. In addition, sites 17 and 18 had various construction materials in them, blocking their use during the busy holiday season. It is unfortunate this is allowed, as this means the camp can support just 10 families visiting during the holidays, which defeats the purpose of FAMCAMP.
