Had a great stay in our RV with the family! The river was so pretty and clear, we snorkeled and enjoyed seeing the fish swim. We broke that our golf cart as well since it's a bit of a walk when you have a lot to carry, so if you have a golf cart I recommend bringing it...otherwise you would benefit from having a wagon that has large wheels that can handle the river rock. If you need anything town is a quick drive down the road, they do have a few super basic things for purchase on site as well as ice. We will be returning next year for sure!

We stayed here over Labor Day weekend. It is located in a remote area outside of Uvalde. There is not a lot to do. They have a trail down to a quiet part of the Nueces river, which at the time was very low. There pool was nice and was not crowded at all. It had just re-opened from maintenance. A really nice splash area for kids. And some nice shade areas.

The park was less than a 1/3 full. The ants (including fire ants) were very bad at our campsite. I bought some ant hill killer and that helped. But still got bit up by those pesky brats. Not sure this is the parks fault but perhaps they could fertilize with insect killer.

Wifi is free with a hitch. If you want to use more than 1-2 devices on lower speed, you will need to pay a small fee for up to 4 devices at streaming speed.

Final negative was that they ask you to wear wristbands during your visit. We did not wear them and didn’t get into any trouble. But we only visited the pool once and never went to office/store.

We rented 3 cabins as a group & we're all very disappointed. The difficult trek to the river is much farther & especially difficult for me & my son who is somewhat handicapped. The large river rocks were very hard to walk on for such a distance. You can't even see the river from the camp grounds. The cabins weren't bad but very basic. Nothing but cheap broken blinds on the windows so no sleeping much past sunrise. No rugs to wipe the sand from your feet. The cheap dishes we had to pay a $50 deposit to use, didn't include any knives, non-stick skillets, or baking pans. We were particularly upset that the pool wasn't useable. Every time we went by it you could hear the pump running but we're told the pump was broken. More likely there wasn't someone there who knew how to get the chemicals right to clear it up. The cell service sucked also. Needless to say, we won't go back!

Love this place. Been coming three - four times a year for the past seven. The staff is always helpful and always tend to our needs. I am sorry that everything has to have a deposit on it due to past theft from previous customers. I love this place and I’ve got to keep on coming as long ad you allow our family. We will back in Feb or March of2024.We will keep coming back because the price is above average for what you receive. Lot to do there in the summer and not as much in the winter. We see our daughter in the nursing home and drive five hours to get there and is perfect. The staff have always try to accommodate everything we needed.

God bless you all.

The champion family
