The owner needs a lesson in how to speak with people. She berated several members in our group for simple "rule" violations. Rules most of us were not aware of and I might add most of the campground didn't appear to follow. I have no issue with them politely explaining them to us and asking us to follow them. But rather than do that she spoke with each person like they were a child and scolded them. There were three separate apparent infractions. Not the same things at all. But she acted like we were annoying her by making her ask us each time.
Yet the group of sites adjacent to us had multiple incidents with drunk people fighting and swearing all hours of the night and they were allowed to stay while we were threatened with "in won't be a good result if I have to come back here again." REALLY threaten a group with 8 sites on a family camping trip. Idk but we won't be going back.
My family has been using this campground for many years and this year the owners really made us feel unwelcome. They do not clean the bathrooms or showers during the week. Not even if the campground is full and berated our children when asked why the bathrooms and showers were so bad. Workers were extremely rude about the use of golf carts. Threatened to throw out a disabled vet for driving up to the restroom at 2 am. My group has already put our deposit down for next year, but I am positive we will be looking for a new campground for our future events.
At first glance when I pulled in it was disappointing as pictures on their website made it look so much better. As time went on my disappointment just continued when I noticed that it seems the staff on the golf carts who were apparently escorting people to the sites that’s all they seemed to do while the bathrooms close to my site was never cleaned the entire 3 days I was there. The pool had lots of debris around it & in it plus I did see a few times kids falling on the leaves or pooling water & it seemed they were injured. The sites were a bit rough & one day we got heavy rains & since my site was mostly rocks & dirt it took little time for it to start flooding. With the experience I had plus the weather we encountered & the choices I had to make to keep my family safe I can say that I’ll be looking at other options if I’m in that area again.
Did not stay at the hotel just visited the lake. It was clean, beautiful and quiet. It is a good place to relax or think. The water was very clear, and I didn't see any dead fish. Great place for a picnic date or swimming.
This campground totally surprised me. It's in middle of nowhere. They have 200 site, heated pool. Bathrooms with shower and lots of things to do. We went on one the Halloween days it was fantastic. It was during the daylight the kids and many of the parents dressed up. We had lots of fun the best Halloween we have ever celebrated
