About Campground

Lewis and Clark held council with the Yankton Sioux near the site of this KOA next to the Missouri River. The campground is located in Yankton, where history abounds! This KOA, with RV Sites and Tent Sites, as well as Cabins and Deluxe Cabins, is next door to the NFAA Easton Yankton Archery Complex, that includes archery ranges, a museum and NFAA headquarters. At this facility, you can hone your skills at indoor, outdoor, 3-D and Olympic archery (equipment available for rent).

At the campground, you can relax and unwind, cool off at the pool and have fun playing horseshoes, sand volleyball or basketball. Join the kids on the Jumping Pillow or playground. Fido will enjoy the dog park too! Six miles west, at Lewis and Clark Lake, you'll find opportunities for boating, sailing, fishing, Jet Skiing and kayaking, as well as swimming and sunbathing, on miles of beaches. Yankton also has some of the best pheasant, waterfowl, deer and turkey hunting in the area.

Staff was very nice. We had a quiet night there, fine for stopping for the night, clean facilities, nice pool. Location is on the east side of yankton, away from busier lake area. No paved road or sites. Pull through sites arent quite long enough.

Huge thanks to Don for answering my midnight call searching for a campsite in the heatwave. We thought our power source would allow us to boondock, but it didn’t. He very kindly told us to come over and we could check in the next morning. You were a lifesaver!! Thank you!

Booked a one nighter on our way through. Unfortunately we were placed in between folks who are there full time and at 4.30 am, yes 4.30 am they started up their old diesel truck and left it running for 15 minutes before leaving. I rang that evening to give feed back to the owner who was completely unsympathetic and told me if I didn’t like it book somewhere else. He actually hung up on me, very unprofessional. Suffice it to say I’ll be talking to KOA customer service tomorrow.

Friendly staff, easy access but far enough from the highway that it was quiet. Campsites not crammed on top of each other. Restrooms and showers very clean. Cable TV is included, but you need to ask for a set top box. Gravel roads in the campground have some good sized dips. Recent rains filled them up with water so not sure how deep.
