We had a great visit. Staff is great, location was alright, the train horn blasts via the nearby tracks through the nights weren't the best but we got used to them...lol. Location is convenient though to Jay Cook and Duluth so made it convenient.
We stayed on Site 9, Independence Day weekend, 2023 - Full hook ups. NO SHADE. Everything is very clean and well maintained. Pools, showers, bathrooms very good. Very kid friendly. Tight campsites, really packed in, ZERO privacy anywhere here. This is a great basecamp to leave during the day and explore the north shore. Staff was kind and trustworthy, zero issues with staff or facilities. The train was not a big deal, it was fun to see and hear them roll by.
Great place to stay! Everyone was friendly and facsimiles where clean. They offer to pick up trash and bring wood to your site. Loved they even offer fun things for the kids to do. Farthest site is still walkable to the pool/playground/bathrooms/showers/lodge. And all with close distance to Jay Cooke, Cloquet, and even Duluth. Only negative I'd say is the trains the go by and blow their horn, but that is not something they can control.
This KOA is probably one of the best ones I have stayed at.
The campground is very well kept, bathrooms clean, easy to get around, and the entire staff was wonderful.
We did a 3 month stay at this campground (so we got to know people pretty well lol) and I would highly recommend it for anyone medically traveling (even for the duluth area)
The owners were incredibly accommodating and very kind.
I would definitely stay here again.
Yes, there is a train but it really wasn’t a problem, and I work overnight so I had to sleep during the day.
The cabin was super cute. The mattress was ok to sleep on, thin. There are outlets for phones. Bring your own cookware. The fire pit was easy to cook over. The staff was super helpful and fun. People really get into the Halloween weekend. The modern facilities are clean.
