We spent a wonderful, quiet weekend get away there in late February of 2020.
Best place to swim in cenla. However , while most DO their best to keep the area and lake clean , there are the "rotten apples" that really just don't care. It's not difficult to take out what you bring in , or simply use the provided trash receptacles. It is also a place people like myself like to bring our children and it's a toss up if you will encounter those that think vulgar language and cursing is acceptable vocabulary to use within ear shot of kids. I cannot speak on trails or boating personally as my kids just want to swim and build sand castles , but I have seen numerous and various wildlife everytime we have gone to Kincaid. The large pavillion is great and very reasonably priced , and there are plenty of small free covered tables with grills that are free to use (after the admission fee)
Use common courtesy, FLUSH THE TOILETS , leave your potty mouths at home , and Kincaid Lake & recreation area is a spectacular escape into nature!
We did a little looking around. The trees took my breath away. It was beautiful. There was a nice beach. We did not do any hiking. It was too hot for me to. We will go back when the weather is cooler.
I love the way to keep the fishing area clean the bathrooms are clean and well kept. Today was a wonderful day at the lake we caught probably 35 catfish. We plan to have a large fish fry soon. So thanks to Kincaid lake and the people that manage it.
