Katherine Landing Campground

Stayed here on a weeknight during the winter season. At about 3:30 AM I was woken by the sound of loud diesel trucks hauling presumably dumpsters up and down the adjacent road, making incredibly loud metal clanging sounds that persisted throughout the night. Worst night of sleep I have ever experienced in a campground. Actually had a dream that I woke up surrounded by a sea of old metal filing cabinets as my sleep deprived brain was trying to make sense of all the noise. No mechanism for seeking a refund as the campground did not appear to be staffed. If not for the noise I would give 5 stars. Coordination is needed between the campground and the park’s hauling operations.
Lots of restrooms, nice showers, laundry. Average size spaces lots of shrubs for a little privacy. Dog tolerant. Dump station with potable water. Reasonable nightly with senior pass.
We have been campers for many years and have never experienced hosts as wonderful as Deb and Del at Katherine Landing. We’ve been coming here the past four years and have seen them go above and beyond in their hospitality and maintenance of campground facilities. We look forward to seeing them every year. Their friendly demeanor and acceptance of everyone is appreciated by many!
The Katherine Landing Campgrounds are clean and neatly kept, having well spaced sites with trees and shrubbery to provide some separation from adjacent sites. All the amenities one would expect to find at a full service campground are available here... There are both non-electric and full-hookup sites, watered bathrooms, shower and laundry facilities, as well as an adjacent RV dump and potable water station. It's just a five minute walk to the expansive marina with boat rentals and a large beach area. You'll also find a waterfront cafe with tasty eats and sweets and a well-stocked general store.
I'd like to mention camphosts Deb and Del specifically for their delightful demeanors and obvious love for their work, guests, and campground facilities. That said, I had an opportunity to interact with many staff members during my visit, all of whom were clearly committed to providing folks with exceptional experiences in their areas.
In all aspects, I had a great experience at Katherine Landing and will look forward to my next visit!
