What an awesome place to visit!

There's all kinds of stuff to do here. There's bed and breakfast. There's hotels. There's a fort. You can bike all the way around the island which is 8.2 miles.

One thing nobody mentioned was the little tiny flys that absolutely take over the island for 2 weeks a year apparently and right now at the end of May 2023 they were awful.

Lots of restaurants. Lots of shopping fudge places. Ice cream everything.

You take a boat from Mackinaw City or St. Ignace to get here.

After you get on the island, there are no gas powered vehicles. There is only bikes that you can rent. You can walk everywhere. Or you can take a horse-drawn carriage.

It's not a problem finding a bathroom around the island. There's rest stops everywhere.

Really nice unique place to go.

A truly outstanding piece of craftsmanship! Always traveled up north but never stopped here; when I had the chance to do so, it was well worth the trek. It was mind-blowing to experience the oval rock! A bike ride was a fantastic opportunity to exercise and appreciate the amazing surroundings. Additionally, this is the place to go if you want a trip that is family-friendly.

It is a fabulous summer tourist destination with about 300 year-round residents with everything a small town has. Public library, state park, airport, grocery store, post office, schools...lots of places to eat, drink, relax, and be happy!

We had so much fun here! We would definitely visit here again. I love that you can not drive cars on the island. You can ride carriages or horseback, which I love! The island is beautiful, and all of the fudge they offer everywhere is amazing. We stayed at the Grand Hotel, which added to the overall experience. The town is so cute. You can walk around to all the shops and just relax. I highly recommend visiting here!

Absolutely stunning little island! We rented a bike and went around the entire island in a little less than 3 hours with quite a few stops along the way. Take water bottles with you, there is a snack shack about half way and they have restrooms there as well. We grabbed some snacks from the grocery store in town (oldest grocery store in America) before heading off on our bikes. The arch lookout has a lot of steps (over 200) but the view is well worth it! If you don't want to climb, you can also take a horse carriage to this area. The views are so scenic with gorgeous views of Lake Huron, beautiful wild flowers, cute colorful homes and pretty hotels. Great restaurants, lots of places to get fudge and souvenirs. They even have a Starbucks. Loved this island! Will definitely be back again some day.
