Hartman Rocks Recreation Area is dominated by the "Ring Dike," a spectacular monzogranite rock formation about six miles in diameter. This multi-use area features high quality single-track trails and rugged dirt roads. Visitors will enjoy fantastic mountain biking, rock climbing, bouldering and more. During the winter months, much of the road system is groomed for cross-country skiing. From Gunnison, travel west on US-50. Just before the Twin Bridges, turn left onto West Airport Road/County Road 38. Continue for about 2.5 miles to the parking area entrance, which will be through a wooden fence.

Great place for dirt bike and mountain bike riding. Open areas not much for shade. Camping available in quite a few places. Keep and sport utility two track also.
Such a hidden Gem! Hartman Rocks is so Serene. Hiking, Mountain Biking, just Walking and watching the Sun almost set. Rocks to Climb on with So much open land. Anything is possible at Hartman Rocks, you can feel it.
Million dollar views for free. We stayed there for a few days camping and had a great time. Beautiful place with lots of activities for everyone.
Besides for the hiking activities, Hartman Rocks was very busy with mountain bikers and not surprisingly so: it had a range of trails from easy slopes to adrenaline rush inducing drops.
