$20 a night. We decided to camp last minute and needed a campground. We lucked out with there still being space available. Although you can drive around the lot and claim a spot if available, I highly recommend booking in advance of going during a busier season or on a weekend.
Very well maintained and clean bathrooms. Nice trails to catch the sunrise/set.
We have been driving or pulling some sort of camping set up for over 25 years. We've stayed in private, state and federal campgrounds all over the country and in most states.
We stayed here two weeks before Christmas to visit the lighted bridge. We may have been the only overnighters there. We did see some folks in the day, but did not see or hear anyone at night.
It was a bit windy but quiet, the night view was amazing, the pit toilets were clean, the night was very cold, and the morning view was just as amazing.
We will be back in warmer temps to do some hiking.
This was such an unexpectedly wonderful find! We went over Memorial Day weekend and it was nearly empty and fantastic weather. It is a low amenity place (no water or electricity) but the spots are massive and just so well kept. The whole area is filled with fantastic bike and hike trails and incredibly easy access to Royal Gorge. The campground host was lovely and checked on us each day, telling us where to get water and neat hikes to add in. You can hang hammocks and you need to bring wood because you cannot cut it there but be prepared for amazing views in every direction.
Loved my camping trip here! Stayed for 2 days & was blessed to wake-up to a family of over 8 deer! Grounds are well kept and clean with very nice firepits built in. Other campers around were very friendly. Lots of Awesome Birds and Trees! Not very expensive at all!
