Love to Camp here unfortunately the water is non-existent but it's still a beautiful Park and quiet.
The host was so sweet and polite! Sadly the drought in texas is very bad. Good thing the hike was very nice over to the lake. Love how clean the restroom was and loved how she made the toilet paper cute! 10/10 definitely gonna have to come back sometime soon!
Christmas Eve afternoon quiet time in beautiful nature=perfect! Very little water now, btw, cuz, ongoing drought. I didn't expect water, and I enjoyed what I did hope to experience 🌲🌄
My husband and I took a spontaneous camping trip. We intended to go to Pace Bend Park but they were fully booked for primitive camping. We took a short stop on the side of the road to figure out our next step. Looking up places around us, we found Grelle Rec. Park. Called to check if they had any availability and a sweet Lady named Linda said “come on down, I got you guys”! She and her sweet dog met us at the entrance. We followed her down to one of the overflow sites where we ended up pitching our tent. A view with hills, water and Blue bonnets everywhere. Linda saved our weekend and this sweet lady didn’t just take the time out of her day to meet and talk with us, she keeps the whole place clean. Dogs are supposed to be on a leash but we went down to the beach and let the dogs go crazy, like many other campers did. Everyone was friendly and cautious of other people around.
Thank you, Linda. We very much enjoyed our stay.
We enjoyed the first annual (or more) Heart of Texas Fly-In at the Grelle Rec area. The large dry lake there provided an excellent Landing Zone for our paramotors. People came to ohhh and ahhh at us flying around. All had a blast. Many thanks to our host and Lone Star Paramotor.
