I don't recommend this place if you are trying to have a fun and relaxing camping trip. The people in the front office drive around the campsite all day and night telling you what to do like your a child. The space was entirely to small for tents, you can only put tents in certain spots which was between trees, shrubs and dead bushes with limited space between the trees since we didn't have enough room to put up all the tents we slept in our two vehicles that we are only allowed to park because the rest of the vehicle has to be parked way down the street. There are to many things that went wrong to name just know this was the worst camping trip ever and a waste of money. PLEASE DON'T GO HERE!!!!
Great Park. Sure it will be more enjoyable when the weather is cooler. Easy reservations and great staff at the office and camp store. Enjoyed our weekend even in the Texas heat.
A beautiful camp ground. Well maintained. A very friendly staff. Grounds are kept nice. The sites are clean and roomy. Lots to do, lots to see, from hiking, fishing and even birding. Boredom is not on the menu. A great place we will be back.
We have been coming to South Sore for over 10yrs. We stay in the same cabin, and enjoy the views/ peacefulness (especially when there aren't many campers present). Each cabin comes with 2 bunk beds which consist of 3 twins and a full size matress. bathrooms/showers are a short walk away. The park is well maintained, cabins clean. Activites: Fishing, swimming, kayaking, volleyball, playground, mini golf, hiking trails.
We had a wonderful weekend! We stayed in a cabin, which was nice. It included two bunk beds (one with a full size on the bottom), a/c, a covered patio with a fan, and each cabin had its own fire pit and grill. It had amenities such as, putt putt golf, volleyball, horseshoes, a swing set, you can rent kayaks, a small dock for fishing, hiking/biking trails, boat ramp (quite a few fishing boats out that weekend), and a swimming area. The staff was pleasant and helpful. The only complaint I have about this park is that it has a lot of electrical towers and wires that ruin the view. But it does seem like a great place for a family reunion or couples getaway.
