We have been hiking the AT and have stayed at two dozen places along the trail (and many more campgrounds in our life) and I have to say this is my favorite.
The family, the beautiful grounds, access to the AT, tasty general store across the street, the fact they recycle, and have a swimmable pond. But seriously we love Greenwood Lodge, the family that has curated such a special place, and we just adored it. We have a campervan and have a site with W/E though we only need the water. The tent sites look great too.
We camped there ,was wonderful. They do have a lodge but we did not inquire about it. The folks there are so nice and the campground is so neat and well taken care of. We absolutely love it and will be back..
This is a peaceful, clean campground we found coming back from Maine. Electric and water hookups with dump station. We will return to explore the history around the The Shires of Vermont. Good vibes here!
Didn't stay in any lodging, we stayed in the campground. The grounds are beautiful! It's just up the hill from a seasonal ski lodge. You're tucked away from the hustle of town but close enough to go get supplies. The bathrooms are in the main house.
This campground is so beautiful and quiet. Immaculately maintained. The tent sites are so so pretty that it makes me almost wish I were a tent camper again. Most of the RV sites are equally nice. Great places to walk, three beautiful ponds, friendly hosts, and a lovely section of Vermont with lots of things to explore. we have stayed here twice so far and will absolutely be coming back again every year. This is not a. “ resort.” RV place and it is not oriented towards small children and that there is no pool or big swing sets and slides and all that kind of thing. But really, isn’t the best thing for children for them to be out in nature and make their own fun, right?!
