Everything you want out of a campsite! No water, but if you are looking for trails and a place to pitch a tent, this perfect!!
I didn't realize you needed a reservation so we got locked in this morning. It is free, just book ahead at https://www.swfwmd.state.fl.us/recreation/how-make-reservation
Hiked about 6 miles to backwoods primitive camp site and stayed overnight. Beautiful scenery. Followed the Florida Trail for about 4 of the 6 miles.
A hugh improvement from the last time. Even though I got a warning for turning before the campsite. The FWC officer was nice and professional. I'm glad they are keeping there eyes out for potential wildlife and concervation violations. The campsites feel safer now. I would recommend for a quiet relaxing get away.
It's a wonderful place to spend time camping. Come prepared to have no electricity or potable water. However the place has lots of trails and beautiful places to explore. We stay a week or sometimes more when my family goes.
Better than Wekiva or Serenova. Dogs had a blast with the main road and trail 4. Only downfall was a homeless family with dogs.
