This is my third time here. My friends invited me here, I am not really a camper but this is a great place for camping. Clean bathrooms and great outside showers. Staff is super friendly and very accommodating. There are grocery stores near by, but there is also a small store on the grounds where you can buy small items like ice and wood. There are many electrical outlets making the camping experience very comfortable.

Just did the Newman Creek paddle near the Manatee Viewing Center. It was a great experience and we will be back. The kayak attendant was wonderful, helpful and very informative. We enjoyed the self-guided trails and loved seeing the manatees. Highly recommend!!

Perfect day and great service. Kayaks and equipment accommodated the family needs, we were checked in and on the river in no time. Plenty of wildlife (turtles, birds and a few gators). Definitely be back!

I’ve come here and brought friends on a couple of occasions to canoe or kayak. Usually, I bring my own boats and have them drop me way uprive, but this time I rented theirs and left from their dock. We opted for sit inside kayaks for all six of us as we planned to paddle upriver for a couple of miles then turning back with the current down to the pickup location beyond the state park (about 5-1/2 hours total.) Very helpful and informative group of people handling the boats and assisting people getting in their boats. If going upriver be sure to ask for the lightweight aluminum pole paddles.

A+ Our friends camped for the weekend and they invited us out for the day! It is absolutely beautiful here! Very clean and well taken care of! We are planning our own trip to stay for our anniversary and I can't wait! It was so relaxing and the views were just gorgeous! We took so many photos of nature alone to show our work colleagues! Having a place so close by that feels like it is in its own “part of the world” and affordable is our new “hidden treasure!” This place is perfect when we need to get away, celebrate, or just need some “chill” time away “from it all!” 🤣
