Cons:
The main roads through the campground are all sand and dirt and riddled with potholes. When it rains, the road along with the campsites turn into mud pits. The water sits in many places and turns into a cesspool for mosquitoes.
This campground is located next to a sand quarry. During the weekend it is closed and quiet but throughout the week all you can hear is construction equipment and vehicles.
Pros: The location is great and about a 15 minute drive to Freeport. There are good gas stations and grocery stores nearby as well.
The camp hosts are nice and the camp store supplies all of your needs.
Overall, our experience was neither excellent nor poor. It is a good place to stay if you’re parking your RV and exploring Maine.
This place is amazing. Such a nice clean campground with nice level rv sites. It's also only about 30 minutes to Portland which is a huge plus. The owners are the sweetest people and they clearly take pride in their campground. Probably going to try to make this a yearly trip. I only wish they had more trash cans for animal clean up, but other then that it is small, quiet, and perfect.
I stayed here for a mom-cation! I loved it it was quiet and peaceful my lot was large and able to have my teenagers in and out as they wanted.( I reserved for 2 kids when booking)
Dog park was great my dog enjoyed it. Clean could use some “sprucing up”People were friendly and staff was amazing! Bathrooms were very well maintained.
The nature trail wasn’t marked the greatest but you could tell where it was.
My husband and I enjoyed our stay in one of the smaller cabins. The showers and bathrooms were always clean and in great function. Located in a quiet wooded area, which was wonderful! Still close enough to town for a great shopping and eating experience. There were a lot of activities throughout the week for those who wanted to participate. Wonderful stay! We love Maine, so we will probably stay here again! Price was great! I have chickens back home in Ohio, so seeing chickens on the property made me miss mine a little less. Thank you!
