A stunning little reservoir perfect for a weekend camping trip.
I took a small group of Young Men to this reservoir expecting it to be pretty dead and barren. I was surprised to discover a lush green spring fed camping area that was a delight to camp at.
Be prepared for some windy mornings and evenings and perhaps a little bit of weather during the nights. Also I'm not convinced there are actually any fish in the water, so best of luck with that activity.
A beautiful piece of heaven on Fish Lake Mountain. It's usually very quiet with very few other people. Fun fishing for trout. Also a great place to play around on a kayak. There are a couple things to consider.
Access to the lake is dirt roads that can often be rough. You are better off using a truck or SUV.
There is a small ramp, but the ramp and lake are really only good for small boats.
This reservoir's intent is to provide water for farms. As such, the water level drops drastically through the summer to almost a small pond by August.
The nearest place you can buy ANYTHING is several miles away in Loa, and nothing is open very late, so come prepared.
