Boy I miss when this place was the nudist camp, before all the tourists came. Used to live down there for weeks. It was great! They still do that?

Please do NOT take FR 57 and FR 16 through the Pine Mountain Forest to get to the campsite. THIS IS THE ROUTE THE GOOGLE MAPS RECOMMENDS AND IT IS VERY DANGEROUS. The road is along a series of switchbacks down the mountain. The road is too narrow and too steep for turning around. It also contains several sections with large boulders that are difficult to get over. Importantly, it will put you on the opposite side of the river from the campsite and it is not possible to cross the river. We had to have our car towed out ($1200).

Wonderful hike and camping if you have 4 wheel drive. Worth the trup!

The springs are on the other side of the river. You will have to swim to get to them.
